I have a 2002 and 2003 Trailblazer, both with about 34,000 on them. At about 14,000 I would hear a rattling sound on the 2003 when you would hit a slight bump. I took it in 3 times and they did somthing with the stablizer and twice put on new struts. I still have the rattle. Today they said it is normal. I do not have the problem with my 2002. They say it is a different car. I now think it has somthing to do with an engine mount of some sort. Any suggestions.

We had a similar noise on our '02. Only evident when hitting a series of bumps. It was the ball joint on the passenger side. impossible to inspect without jacking the wheel and then compressing the suspension arms, then you could see it was rattling within the joint. Fairly expensive to repair too. I think it cost us about C$400. Another clue that pointed to that corner was that tire was worn considerably more than the others.
hope yours is as simple as the hood prop rod...

I have a 2002 trailblazer LT .I may have the solution to your rattle up front. I had a similer rattle and it drove me crazy. I took it to the dealer ship and they replaced the shock mounts. That did not work. Then I brought it back and they finally replaced the left front sway bar "end link" and driver control arm bushing. This definatlly fixed the problem. It was not easy for them to find but it worked.
