Trooper starting hard when cold

Have a 93 Trooper S, 4X4, Manual Transmission, 125K miles. I've had this Trooper for 6 months and it has run great. Just this weekend, when cold, it has begun to start hard. Acts like air/fuel mixture is bad (on an old car, I'd check the choke - that's what it acts like). After it starts and runs for a minute or so, it's fine. Any ideas on what to look at first? No check engine lights are on.

Couple of blind guesses: 1) Bad idle air control valve (IAC), 2) bad fuel pressure regulator.

You may have water in your gas, esp if the car is not garaged, just from condensation buildup. Water is heavier than the gas and enters the injection system first, often causing a hard start. Two bottles of dry gas may mysteriously cure the problem, worked on my son's trooper.
