press firmly on the top of it and pull back about 1/2" it is kind of tough to do but essentially that is it.

"Pull Back" means slide toward the windshield. Don't try to pry it up away from the deck or it WILL break. Push it down into the carpet about 1/4" and while maintaining pressure slide it toward the windshield. That will remove the trim. Underneath it you'll find the actual reflector assembly. It has a gasket on it that presses up against the glass to prevent glare. Remove the bulb by twisting about 1/4-1/2 turn and slip out of housing. Now look inside the trunk for the two silver/white tabs protruding through the deck sheetmetal. They should be directly under the rear edge of the housing corners. Push them both up through the deck to partially relaes the housing. The only thing left holding the housing in is a couple "slide" tabs and the carpet. With some carefull sliding and prying, you should be able to remove the whole thing without damaging the gasket. If the gasket comes loose, repair it with a contact cement. Don't tear it off thinking it isn't important. Without it, there is an awful glare from the light whenever you brake at night.
