Recall info

I recently bought an '01 silverado from a private party. Wondering on the recall notices, will I miraculously somehow get the recall notices direct from gm in the mail or is there something I need to do to re-register with gm as me being the new owner? Want to get my tailgate cables replaced. Thanks for any help! :screwy:

I dug around for a bit and couldn't find any free source. I believe Alldata has them, but you gotta pay.

You are right, I have a suscription to Alldata, cost $26 a year.

what tsbs do you need? I have a few :)

i have a 1999 Silverado, Auto Trans, 4WD, Ext. Cab, SWB. i feel and hear a clunk/bump noise coming from what i think is the drivetrain mostly when i stop and sometimes on acceleration. i knew there was a TSB out about that but i don't have access to the details on that. after looking at edmund's limited description of the TSB's, it looks like #68 or #75 is what i'm interested in. could you get those for me? thank you so much ...

i don't know about the states but most likely it is the same as here in Canada , just call the 1 800 GM number and change the info there
