thumping noise

I got a problem, i got cutoff on the highway and had to break really hard to miss the guy infront of me and got a little sideways. immediately afterwards my car started making a thumping noise and my steering wheel is shaking really bad. i know my front is out of alignment (skunk 2 camber arriving tomorrow) but the steering wheel was not shaking this bad previously, and not making a thumping noise even being out of alignment. could i have hurt the alignment even more and now it is really worse, or could it be the cv joint or wheel bearing? any help would be appreciated, thanks

That's my guess too. Flat spot the tires.

crap... i hit a deer >_< dammit! i have to drive to chicago in a week, so in between working 48 hours this week, and building two computers, i have to find time to replace my hood and left front fender. pictures of the repair fourthcoming, but you can see the fun part here.

anyway, i'm getting some shaking of the steering wheel at low and medium speeds... i vaporized a fair amount of my tires when i, err... stopped. think i have a flat spot on the tires, or something worse?

One of the tires could be bad, either flat spotted or slipped belt.
checked the tires (should have done in first place!) got one huge flat spot on outer edge of tire, and tire nearly blown on inner, wow i really messed up my tires, but needed new ones anyway now that i got my camber kit.
