I know this isn't the right place for this thread but the fact is it just seems like the people in here are more informed and informative than other places... so i thought it seemed like a good place to ask.
Last weekend my g/f's FTO, the "family" car, was stolen. She's decided that she wants a different type of car and the short list is currently made up of an EVO VII and a Supra RZ. I like both, and they are VERY different cars, so i thought i'd see what you guys thought?
either way the car will pretty much stay standard.

well both definately have nice performance..
the lancer would be the more practicle choice with 4 doors and all...
you can fit 4 people in there and a small third while the supra, might have some trouble with 4 regular sized people... it has back seats but not very big ones, if u kno what i mean.... on the other hand, i think you could have more fun with the supra
im going to have to go with the lancer, since u want a practical car and performance wise they are comprable

mmm, i prob should have mentioned that the evo will cost three times as much haha...
my flat mate has a GSR, and another mate is in the process of finding a Supra so either way she's not gonna have a unique car!

IV are about NZ$20-25K (x 0.66 for USD approx)
VI and 6.5 is round $30-35 couldn't find V
VII 35-40.
supra from $13-36K depending on spec.
i dont really like the 4-6 EVO's prefer an EVO 3. but g/f says too old and likes the 7. my flat mates GSR is the evo 4-6.5 body shape.

you also hafta consider that evo's aren't nearly as reliable as a supra. If you want a decent performance car thats reliable, a 2 door accord might be a good option. I know it isn't in the same league as a supra or evo by any means but it'll last forever. Also, an infiniti g35 coupe I yhink would come in handy rite about now or ever an acura tl, in the 30-35 price range, maybe a lil bit more but has a ton of power, a sporty feel, and still a very nice luxury car and still less than a VII. Stick to honda/acura, toyota/lexus, and nissan/infiniti and your good to go.

have to agree dont like mitsi much, despite no probs from the FTO, but like subaru i think they managed to build one decent engine (although subaru's is weak and difficult its the only one they ever built that had ANY hope) and thats the 4g63 in the lancer. we don't get acura here so i'm a bit confused about the tl and the vII, but we could pick up a current shape prelude vtec or integra type R really easily, she just doesn't like them... hard to please.
