Hello. can anyone help me I have a hyundai elantra 2001 which is financed and its not paid for yet. I only had it for almost three years and it has 32,000 miles on it. Just yesterday I had to have it towed because when I put the car in drive or reverse it did not move. I think I have A transmission problem. Does anyone know if the dealership will give me a new car or pay for the problem. I can't get it to the dealership because it won't drive. Should I be having these problems on a car thats now quite three years old. What can I do, please help.

Unless the car has a rebuilt/salvage title, or flood damage, you should have a 5yr/60k mile powertrain warranty from the original purchase date, which would cover the transmission. Take it to a Hyundai dealer and let them check it out.

Thank you. But I couldn't get it to a hyundai dealer. Can I get the problem fixed and keep the original parts and have them reimburse me for the money I spent.

No, you'll have to have it towed into the dealership but the work on the transmission should be covered under your warranty.

Why can't you take it to a Hyundai Dealership? I agree with John above, if you are the original owner you should then have the warranty on it still in effect and let Hyundai figure it out.
