Velvet-like paint surface

Hi, I just applied some Krylon Fusion onto my model, and in some places te paint is nice and shiny, but in some areas the paint is flat and velvet-like. What do you think is the problem? And can this be fixed with some rubbing compound?

the problem may be that you have sprayed some areas after previous coat allready dried. Some colours are realy fast drieing and if you don't cover entire model in one quick overspray this could happen. You will probably be able to remove that with compound but it could also happen that it won't help enough. I would recomand one more coat over entire model.

Sounds like you havent got a even coat of paint on all the areas you have painted.

Agree, too much or not enough paint. Too much can cause the same problem because it give the paint to do tiny bubbles that burst when the paint begin to dry so when you look at it, you don't see the bubbles because they burst but the effect is a velvet kind. Check if the velvet is on the corner of the pieces/body... and if the plane surfaces are cool then I must be close to the answer. Rub n compound should do the trick.

thanks for the help guys. I think the problem was that it dries too fast, since Fusion supposedly bonds w/ the plastic or whatever. I'm not buying this shit again lol

Good thinking, i've used that fusion before and had terrible result's.

It sounds like you didn't use any primer? which may cause this problem.
