Its located inside the distrubutor cap .

I have a parts car with a 305 tpi. it has accel distributor and wires. Can I put it on my carburated 305?

I don't think the 2 are interchangable but I could be wrong. I know the TPI uses a HEI distrubutor and the Carb 305 doesn't
