The Fuse Box

Im going to connect a few neons into the interior of my car. Im connecting them through my fuse box, as my main power source (instead of connecting straight to the battery). I am using fuse taps to connect into the fuse. I want to tap into the fuse for the 12V plug-in hole on our console. Which fuse is it in the fusebox?
Im going to be adding an inline fuse and a switch also. So I just need to know which fuse I need to tap into for my power, because Im not exactly sure. Thanks

Just a suggestion. Why not just tap into the lighter itself. Since you are running the neon under your dash, that woul be a centralized location for the power wire and you can still run the inline fuse to the neon.

Because I dont want to remove my cosole. Tapping into the cig lighter would probably require that. This method of goin into the fuse box is easier, and doesnt involve and cutting of wires or anything, I just need to know which fuse to tap into.

:rolleyes: Hi, yesterday I was messin with a lighted shiftknob I bought earlier. When I hooked it up it worked well for a few hours and then my dasboard lights aswel as my taillights and cigarettelighter went awol. I took the power for my my shiftknob from the cigarettelighter and I was pretty sure I blew a fuse. After checking and searching for my cigarettelighter fuse I realised it shared a fuse with the tailights. And yes is had been blown. So to cut this story short I think the fuse you are looking for is the fuse fo the taillights.

No No No! you dont want to connect it to your tailights. Reason is look at what happened to you..if a fuse blows....your tailights go out also. I want a constant powersource. Not only when my lights are on, and not only when i press the brakelights or whatever. I want a normal constant powersource, and to be able to turn it off and on manually with a switch.

The tailights and cigarettelighter use the same fuse but the cigarettelighter giver you constant 12v. Or am I wrong?:confused:

im not really sure if they share the safe fuse connection in the fuse box, but ya the cig lighter has constant power when the car is either turned on, or when the key is on ACC. Anyone know if there is a free fuse slot in the fuse box that i can use for this hookup? I rememeber looking at the fuse box and slot 23 I think did not have a fuse in it, so was wondering if I could use that slot for the neons?
