E46 325i question

Ok, first off, I don't own a BMW, I just had a question about what someone has said.

My friend owns a newer 330Ci and at about 80ish mph, his car revs at about 3000 rpms in 5th gear. I've read a review on C&D where they compared the bmw to another car and it said that it revs at 3200 rpms in 5th at 80 mph.

Now, the 330ci obviously has a bigger engine than a 325i.

Some guy with an E46 325i is claiming that his car in 4th gear at 80 mph is reving at 2000 rpms and that while he was going around 130 his car was under 4000 rpms.

I don't need any flaming, and I'm not saying anything bad about BMWs, but I didn't believe him. I mean if the bigger I6 revs at those rpms. I mean, I'm sure all of you agree that the 330ci is better so why should his car that has unmodified differential ratios be "better" and rev lower at those speeds?

Oh and btw, the whole reason we started this argument is because he was going around 130 mph for about 5 minutes straight and he claims that his rpms were really low and that since it's a bmw, it's not bad for the engine.

that is about right, maybe 4200rpm, the chip will not let the rpms go up any higher in 5th gear and the motor will cut out at 129 - 130 this is no problem for the engine
