tailgate hinge

although my 04 has only 900 mi.on it and the hinges have rust and
the plastic is comming apart g.m. say's my vin# is not part of the recall and will not fix.

Read your warranty carefully. With a truck that new, and depending on the extent of the rust, it sounds like you should have some kind of recourse through the dealer.

ya that's what i'm thinking,but i have the problem of the dearler here
is not the dealer i bought the truck from,and they have an a thing about
working on cars they didn't sell,if this happens then i will get g.m involved.

I would definitely look into this further. I recently heard about the recall and took my '04 Z71 to my local chevy dealer (I didn't purchase it there) and they told my I need to wait for the recall to come in the mail which should be by the end of Oct. I would suggest contacting GM for further assistance as this problem is warranteed if your local dealer will not assist you.

just to update everyone i called the chevy recall number today, my truck IS ON the recall list and the notice will go out on the 29th of this month, she said they are recalling older models first.
