First Time G20 Buyer

I am considering the purchase of a 1993 G20 w/68K miles on it. The dealer is a small used-only guy and he's asking $4950. I've been searching for some info regarding these cars and have not been able to find what I'm after. I'd like to see some sort of FAQ that lists what potential problems this vintage of G20 is prone to, what to look for as far as warning signs, that sort of thing.

I've been to Edmunds, MSN Carpoint, se-r.net, g20.net and even searched newsgroups at groups.google.com. No luck.

Can any of you G20 fans point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

I just got back from looking at the car. Something is WRONG with this deal and I won't be buying that particular car.

The leather interior is completely worn out, but the odo reads 68K. If that's normal wear, I'm seriously disappointed. More than likely, it is from abuse. Consider: The trunk latch was disconnected--the part that is mounted on the car (not the trunk lid) was in the hole but not bolted into place. The power locks didn't work. The keyless entry was missing and the power locks didn't work properly. The speaker grille on the passenger-side A-pillar was crushed. New tires & original wheels, but the wheels looked horrible. Rough paint job--lots of nicks and scratches. Dirty car--stains around interior door handles. on ceiling, cig burn hole on rear seat. Steering wheel off-klter about 1/6 turn but alignment OK.

Nice car--the G20 in general--but not this one. Thanks for the info.
