i don't know much about cars but the costs for a mech is too great. i have a 95 buick lesabre. i'm trying to change my pads but can't seem to get the calipers to release. i found the bolts, but can't seem to get the right size tool. i was told by a mechanic a t50 torx bit but that was too small and i just tried a t55 that was too big. ive tried alan wrenches and so on and am about ready to take a sledgehammer to it!

The correct size is a T50 torx bit.
It sounds like the end of the bolt may be stripped or there's crud in the head preventing a good grip. Using alan wrenchs didn't help.
If you have a large pair of vice grips and can get a good grip on the head of the bolt, it still may be possible to remove it. Of course, if you do manage to get the bolt off, don't reuse it.

I just did a 93 LeSabre and it has 3/8" allen head bolts.
