Valve adjustment

I've been having a very loud tapping like noise coming from my engine for a while now, and have been told that it's my valves by a few people. I was just wondering, is this common on Preludes or not because I've also heard the same noise on a few other Preludes around my area. Now, will getting a valve adjustment solve this problem (if thats what the problem is of course), or will I have to get a whole new set of valves? Also, does anyone know what it costs to get your valves adjusted, atleast about what it should cost? Thanks

it cost me around 60 bucks and it helped quiet the valves but did not erradicate the tapping completly.

Learn how to do it yourself so you can do it repeatedly. You will be needing to do it repeatedly as the noise will keep returning eventually.
Also I heard that switching to a thicker weight oil(during the summer only) will help quiet them down.

I've heard some say it's the valves, others say the injectors, but, for me, if it doesn't hurt the performance, I don't really mind. I've also heard why bother doing it because it'll just return.

that noise is the solid lifters, that most honda motors have. it's normal, don't waste your time.
also, lurker rex, the valves in honda motors (other imports as well) are set up looser than a "normal" enigine. they do this to achive higher rpms.

on a cold start, my engine does make some tapping sounds, but once it warms up(after a few miles) it goes away. I only hear it during idling. Just trying to identify if we're hearing the same sounds, mine kind of sounds like someone clapping or slapping, about 4 taps every second. I've thought maybe it was the oil being sloshed around.
Here's another sound. Upon engaging first gear and take off, I hear rubbing sound. This sound is similar to the reverse gear sound in all hondas. It only makes this sound when I'm accelerating slowly from a stop. If I jump off the start, it doesn't make that sound.
