Sounds like your starter relay is stuck on. Try giving it a light tap w/ a hammer to se if it does anything. If it does help, you'll need a new relay.

hmm... are you saying that it cranks continuously and doesn't start, or runs continuously and won't shut off? if the latter is the case then you're experiencing run-on, a common phenomenon when using an MSD ignition or the like. if that's the case you have to rewire the MSD's power wire into your car's voltage regulator, instructions for which are on msd's website if i'm not mistaken. if your ignition is still stock, i dunno what to tell you except get a new ignition switch (on the column behind the key cylinder).

I was wondering the same thing . I agree with both the possibilities depending on the symptoms. if you turn the key to the run position without starting and the dash lights come on do they go off when you turn the key off

I have a 95 Mustang GT, basically, it dosent wont to crank, the key is hard to turn, then when you go to turn it off, you can turn the key COMPLETELY OFF & REMOVE it, & the car still has Electrical, & is still running, My dad thinks the switch is broken, The car was totaled, then restored, Guy we brought it from totaled it & was a jackass, Could this be why? Jokeing, but seriously, I tried the hammer thing, didnt work, I have it sitting in the driveway w/ the clock on... help please!

Disconnect the battery until you figure out the problem.

I think I have the answer to ya prayers.... it's your ignition switch module.... The slide switch on it has become misaligned or disconnected someway.

Example my ignition switch module bracket was bent in a way so that the whole thing could move and the slider would not stay in the on position so when I let the key snap back it would move the slider switch to the off position and car would shut-off. I just peened my bracket so it would stay like it should and problem solved. Sounds like yours for some reason is stuck in the on position.

ok well, hereas what my dad thinks, he says that the pin that starts the car, Goes in when you turn the key, then when you turn it farther, it cranks the car, then pulls it back so it wont sit there going "zzssssssssszzzzzzzzzsssssss" trrying to start the car, when its already started, but then, when you turn the key back, the pin doesnt come back with the key, it stays in that position, this is what my dad thinks
