a guy where i work is selling a cavalier for 3200 (canadian) and all that is wrong with it is the hood has been pushed in, and is now like a upside down v on the driver side.
there is nothing wrong with the engine, he started it and drive it around the parking lot, shit like that.
its got 68000 K on it..
he just finished leasing it, and has a lot of new parts, showed me all the paperwork today on it.
now is this worth the price he is asking..?

Find out if he had got all the recalls taken care of on the car... there was neumerous ones, other wise... 68K... not sure what that is when you convert it to miles.. (US here) but i know less a full mile...you could always fixed the hood and get a carbon fiber hood for 499... But i was ask him, if you can test drive it.... there are thing you can only tell are wrong when you drive it... drive it highway and city.... these are notorious for going through brakes.... well atleast i am with my car and aftermarket rims.... see if there is any oil leakin from the Valve cover (IDI)... is this a Z24 by anychance?... if it all looks and feels good, go for it!.... even more so if its a manual 5 -speed!

ive had a look under the hood, and there doesnt seem to be any leakage from anything. he just had the brakes, drums, rotors, all sorts of stuff just replaced like 3 months ago, before he got into the accident, so its all new that way.
and i can't exactly test drive it with the hood in the shape its in, so ill see if i can just take it around the neighbourhood. go from there.
thanks for your help

If you can't drive the car around... how much damage did he do... you also might want to check the hinges where the hood bolts to the car and frame where the radiator sits below.. take a ruler and check to make sure its straight and and not bent in anyway...

well, its drivable, its just that the hood is up on the one side where it wasw like pushed in.
so id assume id be pulled over to be asked what happened.
know what i mean?
and the hinges are fine, i checked those first, cuz id hate to get into changing hinges and crap like that.
