If I were you I would just get rid of that factory deck anyway. I bought a nice Alpine mp3 player for my car, upgraded the Infinity speakers to the Kappas. Then put a Alpine amp and Infinity basslink in the trunk. You can find all the speaker upgrades on Ebay. They are half the price of what the store wants and they are brand new. As far as the center speaker, I tried to find one to replace the old one that could handle the power but no such luck. So I had the guy just unhook it and you can't even hear the difference.

The center speaker is useless unless you are hooking a 5.1 channel sound system in your eclipse. But if you feel the need it is a pain in the ass to remove but you can replace it with any four inch speaker.

You can't get rid of the factory deck with the full infinity system ... cause they don't make a adapter for that ... unless you wanna re-run every wire ...

Yeah my center speaker is blown too. It makes everything sound like crap. How can I take it out. I've taken off my front dash around the stereo and air vents but thats as far as I've gotten.

My center speaker blew, so I disconnected and removed it until I can find a replacement. A replacement is hard to find because it’s so damn small, I believe it’s 3 1/2 inches? I noticed a difference in sound quality without the center speaker, but it’s still better than listening to a blown speaker. If you want to remove the center console cover and the speaker, it's relatively simple. This is how I did it on my 2000 Eclipse GT.
Remove the two phillips head screws on the underside of the center console. The console is all one piece from the bottom where the screws were removed all the way up to the speaker grill. Gently pull the center console straight forward, i.e. towards the seats. Don’t try to pivot it upwards toward the roof as if it were hinged to the top of the dashboard, it just comes straight out. There are two 1 1/2 inch plastic prongs on the inside of the console that go straight into the dashboard (think of them as nails going into the dash). If you try to twist the console instead of pulling straight out, you’ll break the prongs. Disconnect the emergency flasher wire harness and you can completely remove the console cover and then remove or replace the center speaker.
You will probably notice a few metal clips that will fall off from behind the console when it’s removed. I didn’t bother to reattach the clips when I put the console back on and it didn’t seem to make much difference. REMEMBER to reconnect the emergency flasher wires when putting the console back on.

Hey this is your Solution. If you have the model # then call 407 291 1448 and ask for RIAN and tell him the serial # so that you can get the code for it, if not you have to pull your radio compartment out. on the bottom of it there will be two screws get that out and pull that compartment out then go ahead and look at the model # you should be able to see if just enough to jot it down. good luck. that should do it.

Peripheral sells an adapter to connect the infinity amp to and aftermarked head unit (converts from the 9 point connector from the amp cord to 4 rca's). Just search for peripheral/ infinity adapter on the net. may be pretty pricey.

i thought we talked about bringing threads back to life. we already have an adapter to do that. its called the mitah adapter. its available at just about any electronics store. there is an IMPORTANT thread at the top of the forum. read it.

no that wont work. even if you just cut into your existing wires your stock radio dosent have enough wats to push even the smallest sub. plus your stock radio dosent have the pre outs to go to the amp. so your best bet would be to get a new aftermarket cd player
