idiot bradke light

I'm having problems with the idiot brake light coming on & staying on in colder weather. I've checked the brake fluid & it doesn't need any. Has anyone had this problem with their Toyota Camry? What did you do to fix?

If the fluid level is fine, it is very possible that your pads are wearing VERY close to the brake rotors. In that case, take it to your local dealer or even have a personal garage look at it. It is a very common thing.

Another possibility is the emergency brake lever.

I am having the same problem exept I did have the brakes checked, was told they are good. When the light comes on it kicks out my cruse control. The light appears to come on more when turning or on rough roads. Any suggestions????

mmcphie, it sounds like yours could be low brake fluid. That can cause what you describe. It will also cause the light to come on during hard braking.

Duckylee, check the switch and wiring under the parking brake lever. Make sure there's no donut crumbs in there. :) Don't laugh, donut crumbs caused that problem with me.
