Which would you rather lose? A testicle or the middle toe?

Hmmm....

I know this is nasty either way, but if I had to choose I think I would go with the toe. I really don't have a good reason, but I figure I can spare a toe and it would look OK...but just one ball dangling...sheesh, I don't know if I could stomach that.

I dunno, the middle toe would look weird, and would affect your balance, and you could always get a fake testicle, but the testicle removal proces would hurt like a beeyach. It's a toss up.

Call me superficial . . . but you could take ALL of my toes before I'd give up a testicle . . .

I would seriously doubt the sanity of anyone that would give up a testicle in order to keep any toe.

That depends on who's toe and who's testicle we are talking about.

I donno, I'd have to go with the toe unless some one can provide some convincing evidence that I toe lends itself more to my survivel then my testicle does... I mean, you get your sense of balance from the fluid in your inner ear... The toe just helps you maintain it, but I think you'd be ok without it. If not just get a prosthesis... Now a nut... That is essenctial to the propagation of the species, not to mention your fealing of manhood!

I didn't think that anybody was approaching this thread on the basis of external values only.The posts so far indicate a holistic approach. Perhaps the fairest alternative would be to find something that women value as much as men tend to value their virility.

left nut man. toes are valuable. say for instance your walking along in the grocery store...

and then, you see some guy in flips...you happen to glance down at them and all of a sudden realize that one of his toes are missing...what do you do?? what DO you do?? its kinda freakish, is it not? i mean, you cant see a left nut removed. also, you can still concieve with one nut. its possible. therefore, if i had to lose one, it would be my left nut...

From a psychological standpoint, it could be considered similar, but having gone through loosing a testical and listening to women who were close to me talk about breast cancer, I feel they're very different. Men are very visual when it comes to women, and a breast is obviously very visual. Therefore, it seems to me that women do put a great deal importance on looks and thus the breasts. In my situation, I knew that I would still be able to reproduce, that my ability would not change. From a visual standpoint, it didn't change much, and no one but my wife and my doctors have seen anyway. Even my wife says there isn't a noticable difference to her.

Another thing, I have never heard a joke about a woman loosing a breast, but I heard many about my situation. Maybe it's an infantile reaction to fear. I even had the nerve to ask the doctor if I would be crazy when he was finished with the operation. When he asked why I had that concern, I said I was under the impression that I would be HALF NUTS.

All this being said, I think I would have prefered loosing any toe.

you can live fine without either one. the large toe and the exreme two are the most important for balance. so the middle one can go without much appreciable loss of ability. and cutting back from 300 million swimmers to 150 million is not a huge difference.
but being a guy I would have to say any affront to my manhood would be difficult to bear. sure you can get ball implants but I just don't think I would feel the same. I am going to have to say lose the toe.

Seeing as taranaki's are without purpose I feel that he could donate his other one and I'll stay complete :p

I personally would rather give up a nut than my middle toe. Im a pretty clumbsy guy as it is, and without my middle toe, I probably couldnt even stand up.

As for the nut. Im the only one who would know its missing. Also, as posted earlier, it is possible to conceive with only one.

Sure, the thought of it is gross at first, but im sure id get used to it.

"Johnie one nut!, Johnie one nut!" I also think that the psychological effects would not be a good thing. With losing a toe you could possibly get symphathy with a woman, but with a nut, good chance.

dont forget your testicles produ c e hormone's and testosterome........without testosterome you will start gro wing breast's, your voi ce will start squeeking like a woman, and you will become feminine...........i would never give one of my nad's away because i dont want boobs bigger than the fat slab's i got now..........

You wouldn't start developing female characteristics unless:
A. You were going thru or had not yet completed puberty.
or
B. You started taking estrogen supplements for some random reason.

Testosterone develops male characteristics during puberty but once established you could lose a nut and not notice much of a difference. If you lost both you might experience a decrease in sex drive along with a less muscular body and a propensity for weight gain. But remember, absense of testosterone is not the same as an abundance of estrogen.

You would notice a decrease in energy and libido, not too much but it would still be there.

I would go for the toe, as long as it wasn't the big or smal toe... I use those the most for agility. Besides, all the damage would be hidden by shoes & you could show off your "battle scar" to people (can't really do that with one ball).

well i kinda fell into this thread thinking the "middle toe" was a new name for something else. but as it isnt im still going to go with keeping all of my toes. you see i smoke so when i get older the whole package is probably going to be rendered useless anyway. although i do admit that when i go to scratch the boys it would feel kinda wierd.

That's not true. The remaining testical will work a little harder to keep the hormone level very close to where it started. From the time I started to show the signs of cancer until now, my weight has only changed by 10lbs, and that's because I sit here at the computer. I didn't have a computer when this started 3 years ago. There has been no other physical changes, no loss in sex drive, nothing that anyone could see except my wife and my doctors.
