I've got an '89 honda crx hf... needless to say, i am lookin for some more power, my budget is next to nothing, because almost my full paycheck goes to my dad to help pay off my '71 nova. I've heard that the hf makes 62 horses :sly: with the d15b6 motor in it. I checked out the motor, and it is in fact the d15b6... with 200,000 miles :disappoin . I've heard something about removing the resonator on the intake for so extra power... anyones thoughts on this. :bloated: Thanx 4 ur help.

Resonator on the exhaust. Its not even worth it on an HF. Swap the motor.

yeh, drop another motor in that thing and you'll feel like your driving a brand new car :) If you don't have much cash flow, save up your money for a swap. But if i were you, i'd enjoy awesome mpg till the engine dies, and by then you'll have enough money to drop another engine in that light beast :p

No there is sposed to be some kind of resonato on the intake that is only sposed to help silence the intake... it has nothing to do with the exhaust. I've got my nova for big power, i just want a little more scoot.

Yeah, you can "gut" your intake box or just remove the box and put a cone filter on the end of the tubing. The HF has MPFI but I think the throttlebody is smaller than the Si. If you get a header and bigger exhaust (like 2") you might can squeeze a few extra ponies or at least feel some more "scoot."

resonator box on the intake is behind the front bumper, to remove the bumper there are two bolts behind each bumper signal night, two screws in each fenderwell, and I believe the crx has some bolts along the top of the bumper. after you do that there is two bolts holding the resonator on, its on, its just a big black box directly under where your filter is at.

airbox is what the filter is mounted in.
