Hello,

I was thinking of this or of the K&N one, which is better? Will using either of these void my powertrain warrenty?

Thanks.

Go with the K+N they developed the high flow filter and are at the top of their game. There are others available on the marked such as the Fram Air Hog, Accel has one and there are others. Changing a filter will have no affect on the warranty!

Thanks, forgot to mention 2.2L.
Thanks again.

there are some GM cars that a K&N WILL void the warranty, as they don't trap enough contaminants. Also, the more times you clean it, the more restrictive they get. I don't feel that K&N's are worth the price or protect your engine well enough, especially in dusty areas.

Thanks Richtazz I didn't know that a filter change would affect a warranty. Which GM cars are affected? That will be good information to know for future reference.

if you use an original style filter, K&N or others, your warranty will not be voided, but if you go with the CAI and cone filter, it's considered a "Mod" and will be frowned upon. My Dad has a K&N on his Vibe and the dealer touted about the performance gains he should have had while doing some work on the injectors, under warranty.
