Silverado - Headlight problem

I have a 2001 2500HD w/ headlights on continuously (day & night)
unless overridden w/ the dash pushbutton. The Daytime Running Lights
never have worked. Any suggestions, anyone?

You don't have anything on the dash that might be covring the sensor do you? If thats not it, I would get the sensor checked. If it is bad, it will cause the lights to stay on. As for the DRL's, check the relay under the hood in the electrical center box. Replace it with one from something else just to see if they then work, and be sure to check the fuses and bulbs also.

Thanks for the suggestion. A bad sensor makes sense. So I have ordered one and am taking that route. One more thing.. does the sensor just screw out from on top of the dash?? Thanks for your helpful comments.
