ok we all know that the VN-VS commodore had the 3.8l v6 (buick 3800 right?) what i wanna know is what is the easiest way to get power out of these engines - keeping them NA. so far i have thought of:

-intake
-catback exhaust
-headers
-cams

what else? people in australia especially i want 2 hear ur opinions.

also i would think an upgraded ignition system (coils, wires, plugs) and a better radiator (aluminium probably)

i only want 2 hear ideas for this not people telling me to change car or whatever its not for me.

VN, VP, VR had the 3800 (Buick).

VS, VT, VX, VY have the 3.8L Ecotec engine.

New VZ has an all new, all alloy engine.

The 3800 and Ecotec are very similar but with different heads, etc.

First step in tuning them would be some headers/extractors and a good flowing exhaust, about 2.5". Add a cold air intake and a K&N panel filter. Some good plugs (Splitfire or high end NGK's) and ignition leads make a difference. Some roller rockers (Yella Terra or the like) give a bit more response. Larger throttle body (or remove the plastic bellmouth from the 3800 version).

From there it gets into cam and head packages, other engine internals or a supercharger package. Turbo-ing is becoming more popular too.

i would get a bigger cam, rockers, flowed heads, different or custom intake manifold, bigger exhaust (go muzza nd be like a vl with a 3inch dumpa).different leads . i know more mods, but u wanna keep it naturally aspirated.:frown:
