I just put in a user programmable ECU and cranked down my VTEC to engage at 1000 RPM. anyone kno why my car runs shitty now?

because vtec isn't ment to run at that low of an rpm. If you want vtec on all the time then get some Toda Vtec Killer cams.

Haha, yeah, having it kick in that early defeats the purpose of it. Having it kick in much sooner than it does at stock kills your power unless you have cams and stuff designed for it.

Move it back up to 4700RPM. VTEC incorporates admirable low end torque and racing engine high end power. Without VTEC, high end power comes at the price of low end torque and you get a ridiculously lengthy spool time. It's like a twin turbo. If you have one giant turbo it will create more power than a smaller one but will do so very slowly.

I thought the last stage of vtec kicked in at 5200 or 5400 RPM?
