I just bought a 1994 Mustang. It's a V-6 manual stock. I was wondering what would be the first thing you should do to improve the performance of it. I was looking at adding flowmasters to it. Can someone give me what i should look at buying. While relizing that i'm not rich;). Can you give me the reason and try and explain some of the major car lingo for me.

i'd go for a true dual exhaust

myself when building a car i like to add power last i rather get some suspeion work in and brakes wheels tires gears all that so then it'll be all ready for some HP

Seriously, save your money. Sell the car and buy a v8 when you can. You will be a lot happier with the performance in the long run.

i agree with magicrat... use the v6 to accustom yourself to rear wheel drive and a manual trans, then ditch it and buy a GT. much more fun to drive, more power, less money required to make it fast.

if you're dead set on modding the 3.8, do a search on this forum. many threads have been posted of this nature, and they should be able to answer your questions.

Save money for a head gasket job....... it's comming. Do a engine swap, I am currently installing a 01 Cobra engine with Tranny into a 96 V6 mustang. I am about 90% done...

Lets go to the experts for this, 5.0 magazine.

$100 or less
K&N air filter, Phenolic intake manifold spacer, underdrive pulleys, K&N fuel-injection peformance kit

$300 or less
headers, cat-back exhaust system, roller-rocker arms, hi-flow throttle body/EGR spacer, performance coil springs, low-gear set

$500 or less
intake manifold, hi-flow exhaust h-pipe, cobra induction kit, hi-flow mass air, performance fuel injectors

These are basic mods for a man with a budget. You can do this or like the others said, get a GT. In the end, it's all up to you.
