Please Help!?!?!?!?!?!?!

i have a '92 acura integra RS...i am trying to rip the tranny out of it, but the pin that keeps the shift linkage into the transmission wont' come out. i tried tapping it through,a nd i tried pulling it out, but i can't get it. it's in a rough spot, so do i just need to pound it harder, or is there some sort of magic touch i need to get it out? any help would be perfect. thanks a lot
