1985 Pontiac 2.8L TPI MAP Sensor

Can someone tell me how to find the MAP sensor on this engine? I have looked and looked, bought a new one to see if I could find a like item on the engine and couldn't. I may not understand the terminalogy so please explain in laymans terms. Thanks

I have no idea what a "map" sensor is but the "MAF" is the Mass Airflow sensor. It tells the computer, the ECM, how much air is entering the engine. Its a platinum sensor encased in a plastic cylinder about 3" in diameter. Its attached to the plastic bucket that holds your air filter. It is a black plastic cylinder about 8 inches long with a slight elbow in it. It takes 3 minutes, a cross tip and flat tip screw driver to remove and replace.

map sensor= manifold absoulte pressure sensor should be located on or near the intake plentum with a three wire connector if your vechile has a trotle body injection it will be on the back side of the air cleaner
