Hello, I am new to this forum. I just bought a 2001 Sunfire and I have noticed that the road noise is alot higher then my 88 Sunbird. Is this normal for a Sunfire ?? This car came with new 15 inch tires but when I had it out for a test drive on its older tires I noticed the same thing. I have not driven another Sunfire to see if there are any differences. I appreciate your responces.

I am using, don't laugh, Kelly tires. Explorer 195 65 15. They came brand new (free) when I bought the car last week. I tried 32 psi and 30 psi. On 30 psi I noticed not so much 'feel' of the road. When I am coming to a stop and barely moving, I know I could count the number of 'nobs' on my tires. You can feel it on the steering wheel. I guess I am not use to yet, a stiff suspension. I hear ya on the strut noise, have one in back. 52K KMs.

I happened to get a 2003 rental sunfire in Toronto these past few weeks and you'd think they would have got the road noise worked out.....ESPECIALLY the brake clunk when changing from reverse to drive....but no go its still there from the 99GT model anyway.
We got 4 Pirellis on the GT and u still hear quite a bit of road noise.

Thanks for your reply. I am kind of glad that there is nothing wrong with the car.
