Gaps in wheel wells... grrr

I'm getting totally fed up with the way Tamiya (don't know about others) keeps neglecting the wheel wells. Almost all my kits have huge gaps between the wheel well and the body of the car (Dan knows what I mean, just look at your Celica). Do you usually just ignore these or do you fill the gaps somehow?

Just for comparison, I looked at my buddy's Revell-Germany Mercedes A160, and no gaps there.
Btw, has Tamiya gotten better at this recently? The newest Tamiya kit I have (Honda S800, from 1997) doesn't have these gaps anymore...

Don't quite understand what you are talking about there. Is there a picture you can explain this with?

What's wrong with Celica? Some models have gap between edges of the bottom and the body (e.g. VW New Beetle). Is it what you're talking about?

I knew that you wouldn't know what I'm talking about... :p

Okay, look at this:

If you look behind the front tyre, there is a huge gap between the chassis (black) and the body (white), so you can see a lot that wouldn't be viewable IRL. Hope this explains a bit.

i know wot u mean although i dont really notice it much and it doesnt bother me. I think its all just down to ease of assembly, u cant really tell unless your looking for it and its something that u can easily modify to correct it if u wish to.

For me it's another case of "but I know it's there" :alien2:

For most my models it hardly can be seen especially if it's low sitting sportcar

why do you guys think I spent so much time lowering my cars

it's just something you have to live with i guess... :o

since stock cars are so jacked, the scale models are also jacked.

That's what I was trying to tell to Mikke. It's not a problem if wheels have correct diameter :)
