thanks everyone. The paint went on pretty smooth (mainly becuase it is a solid white color) but the decals ended up looking like they are raised, which I guess is prototypically correct.

Thanks again,
I use Tamiya clear blue and clear red and brush paint them on. You can get a better result airbrushing them on, but I preffer the old fashioned brush method.
