Ok, I finally started a thread for the longest time lol....my problem is I have advan sa3 16x7 and 16x8 and I need tires on them. I don't know much about tires and wondering what would fit on those specs. I know I can get 205/45/16 on the 16x7 but I am wondering if I can get the same spec tires(205/45) with the 16x8 or do I have to go wider with 215? 8 inch in mm is 203.4 so I am wondering if that would be safe too. thanks

Bette tration, wider=more grip. (and look good) And to learn about tires go to http://auto.howstuffworks.com/tire.htm , a very useful link, helped me understand what all the numbers mean. If you learn this you ll be able to pick perfect tires for your needs.

I know what each means...just didn't know if it would fit right or if there would be problems. Good link though. Thanks...that helped me learn about lsd and stuff.

im running 16x6.5 and got 225/50 all the way around, 225 50 is probably the widest you would want to go on the front and 235 on rears get 50 or 45, if you gow tih 55 then the tire will be to tall.

Well the thing is, I might be able to get some cheap yokohama 205/45/16 for my rims and was just curious if it would fit the rear 16x8's. I know they would fit the 16x7's with no problem...it was just I didn't know if it would fit 8 cause 8's are 203.4 mm which is very close to 205 mm tires. thanks for the help...much appreciated.

if you go too wide without a stiff sidewall the Tread will squirm and it will feel like ass transitioning. also on a taller tire the tread will roll under (hence why you sometimes see shoepolish bands on the sidewall.) either way a huge ass tire on a small rim isnt a good thing

of my car?? or the rims? I haven't install the rims yet cause I don't have tires on them. I am thinking of getting 205/40/16 all the way around. Is that going to be too tight on the 16x8s?
