1999 Suburban, K1500 4x4, 5.7L (personally I like 350 C.I. better!), 3.42.
Got everything for the 7-4 way trailer connector and the Voyager Brake Controller hooked up EXCEPT for one wire. The cold side wire from the Brake switch that energizes the Brake Controller.
Can't find the brake switch, I know it's there, tore the instrument panel off, lowered the column, and still can't find it. Haynes manual isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
Anyone got ideas, know location of, Color, etc. so I can get this done WITHOUT having to take it to a dealer and have them butcher it.
Thanks in advance.
Larry

Finally found the Brake switch (hidden inside the column mount, and hard to get to) and tugged on the bundle to see where it went. :banghead:
1.) Lay down on floor with head under column. FWD is towards the engine (or the top of your head) and AFT is the opposite.
2.) reach up with LEFT HAND (Yer other Left!!) near the firewall and find by feel the brake lever. Go up about an inch and you'll have the brake switch and wire coupling.
3.) DON'T LET GO!!!!! Tug FWD gently on the wire bundle. Look at the column, and find the BIG BLACK JUNCTION BLOCK. FWD of the block is a large wire bundle with a small bundle branching off. You should be able to verify by tugging on both ends and gettting a direct pull.
4.) OPEN the tape wrap and pull out the ORANGE & WHITE WIRE!!!!! There will also be a PURPLE, 2 BROWNS, 2 light Greens and a dark green with a White Stripe. Concentrate on the ORANGE AND WHITE WIRES.
5.) Back probe The orange wire to make sure it hass power all the time. NOW Backprobe the white with the brake pedal off/on/off. The test light should go off/on/off. If so hook up your brake controller.
