Passenger side window question

On my '90 bird, my passenger side window goes down, but not all the way. It stops (sounds like it hits hard) right above the door lock, in locked position - to give you an idea of where it stops. Beyond that, the window performs perfectly.
My question is... is it hitting something? Or was this an attempt at a "child security" window?
If it IS hitting something, how difficult would it be to get into the door to look....
Thanks...
Alex

If the window is partially down and rattles when you close the door, it is probably because the rear track has fallen off and is laying in the bottom of the door and is not allowing the window to roll down all of the way. To look and see if this is the case, remove the screw holding the trim piece on near the A pillar by the mirror. Remove the one screw at the bottom rear of the interior door panel. The panel should now lift/slide straight up about 1-2 inches then will come out/towards you. Be careful of the interior door handle and the plastic trim "cup" that the handle goes through. They tend to break tabs very easily the older our birds get.

My windows both used to do that pop sound you mentioned, (really loud and annoying) and I looked on a website one time that listed a load of complaints about the thunderbird... one was the common "transmission shudder", and the window popping noise was another common complaint.. you might fix the window so it rolls down, but that may or may not fix the pop noise.. my windows just kinda fixed themselves, they slowly got better, and now they never make that noise anymore.. I hope yours stops too.
