I am having one heck of a problem figuring out what is wrong. I can not get the ignition to go to the on possision in my 94 Jeep 4.0L Cherokee. I can put the key in the ignition and turn it back and the Radio come on but when I try to turn it to the on position it does not start, it seems to be locked.
Is it that I neeed a new ignition switch or is there something else wrong. Any help would be nice. Thanks

As kmerian said, your switch is bad. Not the lock cylinder part but the electrical switch.

Thanks for all your help guys. I found the problem and it was not the switch it self. The problem was the lincage from the cylinder lock, it got stuck and all I had to do was jiggle the linkage back and forth on the column.
