1995 taurus transmission

i'm having trouble locating the refill cap for the transmission fluid. do i add the fluid directly into the transmission dipstick? thanks.

First, you should check whether or not you need to add transmission fluid. With the transmission in PARK and the engine running, pull the dipstick out and wipe it on a rag. Then insert the dipstick all the way into the tube and then remove the dipstick and check the reading on the stick. There are markings on the stick showing the level of the fluid. If you need to add fluid, make sure you have the correct fluid type. You need a funnel (available at any parts store) The dipstick should be removed and then the funnel should be inserted into the tube that the dipstick came out of. DO NOT overfill the tranny.
