OK I've got a buddy getting ready to buy a 92 vr4 and we we're both wondering the weight on the vr4s. Also if someone can back this info up we've read that they make 300 hp stock and run 13.9 1/4,and does anyone know the lateral gs these cars pull stock?

the 91-93 VR-4 makes 300hp stock but with a boost controller can be uped to about 320. (very simple) it's curb weight is 3800lbs. 94-96 make 320 stock and in 1997 the VR-4 went on a small diet and shaved off almost 80lbs. you can get the year to year specs for the 3000GT and the Stealth at http://www.team3s.com/FAQ-Specs1.htm
as for the latteral G's, youd have to find some road test from back in 91 or 94 from car and driver or some such mag.

if you go by the 10hp/psi "rule" you can really safely get about 355 hp with nothing other than an $18 boost controller (14.5psi -5.5 psi = 9psi = stock 1st gen boost, 5.5 x 10 = 55, 300 + 55 = 355) but that is more like a rough estimate. also, i think you can just pop off some nipple for free in a few seconds to get the 2nd gen boost levels but i have never done it.

Yeah, first gens(91-93) had 9-10 psi stock, so 300hp, but if you do the free boost mod(just do a search for it on this site) you can turn your boost up to 2nd gens(94-99) stock boost level (11-12psi). A boost controller will allow 14.5psi as was said, and you can get it at Proboost.com for 20 bucks, but your friend will need an aftermarket boost gauge, as the stock one is highly inaccurate and a POS.

The first gens run around 13.9-14.1
the 2nd gens run around 13.5-13.6 stock
