1995 Q45 Tranny HELP!!!

My 1995 Q45 will not go into Drive, its feels like im in neutral. I then have to put it into 3rd and drive it for about 15 seconds and then it will drive fine in the D position. Its driving me Crazy!!! does anyone know what it could be (besides a new tranny)

Sounds like a simple Inhibitor switch adjustment , or shift cable adjustment.
