Welp, 23 days later, got another one. License will probably be gone as of October 27th. 45 in a school zone. Just like evry other day. Just this time there was a pig waiting for me around the corner. 6 points. So Im done.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of the irony.

Being the asshole I am, I must ask this: How hard is it to obey the speed limit in town? I mean really? 20mph for like half a mile or so is a pain, but can be bared.

I'm sorry man! :lol2: It shouldn't be funny, but it is.

Very unfortinate.. if your already in the hole, why did you have to top off the pitcher?

I really do hope things work out though... god speed, err... dont speed.

45 in a school zone.

not cool at all! especially if it was an elemantary school. i know you are what 17? please learn earlier than most of us to obey the law.

lets say your destination is roughly 10 miles away. you go 15 over the speed limit everywhere. i bet you that if you and a friend "raced" meaning he went the speed limit and you went 15 over, that you might beat him by 2 minutes.

its not worth it. just stop doing it for everyone around you.

I was leaving my high school in the middle of a class hour. I was the only car on the road, driving like I, and everyone else does every day. Just happens there was a cop waiting for us today. I talked to some people after school, and the count so far is about 8 people that I know that the cop nailed. Ill probably hear more tommorrow.

This road is one of those where it feels like your going slower than you are.

But, enough excuses. I broke the law, again, and got caught, again. Serves me right. Just a little bummed is all.

yeah i know how that goes. im 19 and my frist year i got 5 tickets for speeding....lets say i learned my lesson to late. had it suspended and have had one moving violation in the last 2 years. It was for "not stopping" at a stop sign which im going to court for next month.

My friend just lost his license for the second time, He Can't get it back for 90 Days.. I just laugh my ass off..he gets caught every time on the same road, exceeding the speed limit and not wearing his seatbelt. I used to work as an Aux. Officer in Stoneham and its amazing how many times the same people will speed past the cruiser. I admit to sometimes speeding on the highway. but it pisses me off at night when Im walking my dog and see Stupid asses flying around corners in my neighborhood like its a speedway. I just wish people would learn to respect posted limits in School Zones and residential areas. The police are just doing their job, they are the ones who have to respond when someone gets hit by a car or wraps it around a telephone pole. :2cents:

Yup.

And Jimmiz71, you say his second time was only for 90 days? How long was the first?

It was For 30 Days but he was on probation for 6 Months after, which meant he could not get ticketed in that time period. He has received 2 more tickets since then and failed to pay his insurance resulting in his registration being cancelled (found this out once he got pulled over). So the judge Suspended his license for 90 days and He is now a Step 32, he already pays over $3,000 a year for insurance :eek7: . Im a Step 9 and pay 1/3 of that.

I can deal with 30 days. One of my co-workers got too many substantially large tickets and lost his for 3 years. Thats why I was pretty concerned, but I can deal with a month.

Wow..Isn't that what we pay taxes for?

^Taxes for What??
Kustom Ace, the most important thing is that you pay your fines on time!! unpaid tickets lead to longer suspensions, and even larger fines for not paying them in the first place. Good Luck, I hope your punishment is not too severe but enough to teach you to slow down. Let us know how it works out.

Update...

Went to court today. Here's what happened:

I talked to the DA, and he said since it was a school zone, he cannot reduce the point assessment. Then he sent me into the see the judge.

Got up in front of the judge, and he said that since 19mph was the cut off for a 4point fine, and I was only doing 20, he would give me a break and gave me the standard 4 point spdg ticky fine. He then said since the officer who pulled me over did not make a note that it was in a "Speeding Fines Doubled" area, he would not double the fine.

So I my 20+mph, 6pt school zone ticket fine came to a grand total of $92.00 with court costs.

Unfortunately, since they couldnt reduce the point assessment, I will be getting a letter from the DMV soon...

Yeah i've been in this situation once......ok twice.....ok going to be three times but they weren't just speeding tickets. Next time get yourself a lawyer and have him get it changed to a non moving violation, trust me, it's worth it in the long run.
