anyone know the rarity of a 70 1/2 falcon 6 cyl. 3 spd. on the collumn......i mean, is it rare enough to fix it up and it be worth my time.....? Or is it just a piece of junk that was never meant to ride....I've had it for years and it starts, the body is perfect condition, i just wanna know if it's worth my time, or should i just sell it. Thanks

in Australia the XW 1970 Falcon 250ci/200ci 3 on the tree isn't very rare.
not sure about the American version.

I think that I'm going to fix the motor that is currently in the falcon, slap a paint job on it, dual exahust, and get mag rims for it.....that way it's still original and i can pimp it...Because i don't know the wherabouts of you guys but in Memphis Tn. I am the only owner of a torino-looking falcon. =) thanks for your Australian info, although it really doesn't help me because i have the american version, everyone is welcome to post what they think on mod ideas, or maybe i should just put a 351 cleavland in it or something, any ideas from other falcon owners? It would be most appreciative.

I've done a little research to find that the 70 Falcon and the 70.5 Falcon are totally different cars. Ford produced the 70.5 falcon along with the fairlane and torino of that year to match thier "sedan" looks. It is almost identical to a torino for exception of an outer door panel stripe on the each side. The title actually reads "70.5". I haven't researched the rarity, but where I obtained this information he described his car as "a very rare bird indeed"

Well that's almost entirely correct....and that pic is what i would like my car to look like =). . . and it will very soon. here is the actual info from the site

An interesting event occured as the Falcon line was coming to an end. Production terminated entirely on January 1, 1970. For a brief time thereafter, the "1970 1/2" Falcon was offered. The 4-door and Station Wagon were re-badged Fairlanes, with Falcon specific chrome, but the 2-door was unique to the Falcon line. The Torino and Fairlane lineup had 2-door vehicles, but they were fastbacks and hardtops. The Falcon was the only one offered with a 2-door sedan (it has a b-pillar behind the driver door glass). The Falcon line did not offer fastbacks or hardtops. Interestingly enough, this '70 1/2 Falcon had seven engine choices up to an awesome 370 hp 429 cu in Cobra Jet Ram-Air V-8. The '70 1/2 Falcon was a stop gap measure to hold the market until the Maverick was ready for production. Thus ended the Falcon line.
1970 1/2 - Falcon Sedan: 2-door
Total Production: 26,071

HeyMan I have a 70 1/2 Falcon as well. And i have been told that it is pretty rare...

Do you know any tips to changing it to a standard from a auto? I am 17 and that is kinda a dream of mine...
