i know, i know. search and google and all that great business. but i couldnt find out if the stock 95-98 240sx came with a ka motor stock. im not a newbie to cars, just to nissans. the reason i ask is that im going to be selling my 97 civic soon and plan on buying a 240. my plans are to make a fairly potent sleeper at least to rival all the stock mustangs and camaros running about. ive recently decided how much i dislike honda, and ive always liked these cars. i cant afford any sort of swap so i need to start researching the stock motor.
also, what are some of the turbo kits for the 240 that the stock engine can handle? and what needs to be replaced on the engine to handle a little higher boost? i realize pistons and fuel system upgrades and such, but is there anything specific to this engine that needs to be redone?
thanks

try the FAQ sticked on the forum and I doubt you tried searching cause you would have found your answer in like 15 secs...anyways yes the 95-98 has a ka motor...KA24DE to be exact. also I would advise to fix all the problems of the car before trying to rebuild the motor and add a turbo. Greddy makes legal turbos for those years. I don't know where you live and if you have strict smog like in california. The car is between 6-10 years old for the one you have and there will be a lot of problems. Read up in the FAQ...there is a lot of info there that might answer your questions needed.

yea it comes stock w/ a ka24de. what exactly is a fairly potent sleeper? the ka can handle anything u throw at it basically its a iron block and it has very strong internals u can run high boost w/ it w/o replacing any internals

ps. i guess "fairly potent" to me, just means actually faster than all those domestics that are around
