ABS Warning Light (1995 LeSabre)

Ok folks, My ABS warning light has been comming on recently. When the light is not on and the ABS is engaged I sometimes get a rapid pulsation in the brake pedal when applying the brakes. The ABS light resets whenever I restart the car, but, now spends most of the time lit. When the light is on I never get the pulsing in the pedal and the brakes work fine. Anyone know what might be causing this light to come on? I tried unplugging and replugging the ABC Controlled cable connector a few time incase there was a corroded lead. Any ideas on what else I might try before giving up and heading to shop?

I think the ABS light just means the system is not operational. You could always just remove the light bulb and do without.

There's an interesting read in the haynes manual on the ABS/Traction Control System and gives a clue where to look. Both systems use the wheel speed sensors and look for different wheel rotational speeds to detect slippage. A tire low on air could even cause the light to come on. Beyond that, I'm clueless as to how one checks out a wheel sensor other than checking for voltage.

Hope that helped a bit.
