I would like to put a toggle switch in my car to turn off the AC when I have the blend or defrost on. I like to have the air on blend or defrost when I ride around but it runs the compressor constantly. When the switch is one position I would like the AC to operate normally and when its in the other position to override normal operation and turn the compressor off. If anyone knows what wire to tap into please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Go Irish!Behind your AC control panel you will find 2 wires that go into the AC selector switch. Add a switch in series. This means you will cut one of the wires and put your new switch in between. If you're not sure you'll be cutting the correct wire don't worry you can splice it. (There are 2 that will produce the same result). However when you cut the correct one you will be able to test it for being correct by touching the 2 ends together and listen for the compressor solenoid to come on (you'll hear a click from the compressor). This test is done with the key in the RUN position, but it is not necessary to have the engine running..§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE TO LOSE§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
