Guys, sorry to have to bring this up again. Tried to search previous posts but I could not find them.
Anyway, I hv read somewhere here before about GTR owners in Australia/NZ who marry the RB26 head with a 3 litre block from some other NISSAN powered car. I am quite interested to explore that option for the GTR which I am getting for race purposes. Can anyone here enlighten me of that particular 3 litre block. I mean, from what car does it come from? I remember someone told me that it could be obtained rather cheaply.
I know it's difficult to make a lot of power with a 3 litre block but I think if I use it with a TO4R or 2530s, the torque/low end response (which I need for a track at which I race) should be pretty amazing! Plus the top end wouldn't be that bad either. I think perhaps I could push the HP up to about 450-480 (am I right?).
With the body material changed to almost full fibre, I think my plan would just work! (finger crossed).

Found that on a quick search, $400 AU is something like $280 american.
And check http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/index.php?s=
The members there should know of shops or junkyards that sell them.

The R31 Skyline in South Africa also had that same RB30E engine, but ours were not restricted with cats etc, so made 126kW and 260Nm as standard.
