Light size behind dash gauges???

I dont wana cough up much cash to change my gauges. I read somewhere you can change the colors of the bubls behind your dash gauge and it will luminate the text and numbers that color. I was jw if anyone has done this? If so do you know the size of the bulbs on 98' malibu. Is the process difficult?
