Ok so i just got m pocketlogger setup on my pda and jus took it for a spin, started logging from dead stop till like 3gear. Recorded it and was just wondering wtf i was looking at lol :)

Log RPM, Timing, and front O2. As for what you should be looking for, have you read the lengthy explanaition on RKO?

ok i logged the rpm/o2 #1/timing and when i tried to do a 3rd gear pull i got that damn fuel cut before i could make a full WOT pull. I noticed on the pocketlogger that when i get the fuel cut my timing is real high. while im driving ive noticed it around 33degrees sometimes. Never looked at it while i was running hard. never found a wide open street yet.

I would suggest logging a pull in 3rd gear from about 2500rpm's to redline. That give you a better indication of what the ecu is seeing across the entire power band. GSXracer is right, rpm, timing, and bank 1 o2. You are looking for the correlation between timing advance and rpm's. Mine drops to about 7 - 9 degrees immediately after going WOT. I can then see a steady climb to about 18 or 19 degrees at redline. What you are looking for is a consistent increase in timing across the rpm range. If you see a drastic drop in timing the ECU is hearing knock. I was getting a random pull of 1 degree at two different places in the rpm band. Kevin told me that it was just the ECU dropping me into another timing map and was nothing to worry about. I am no expert, by any means but this should help.

The 33 degrees is normal, mine range is about -1 (at startup) to about 33 or 34 degrees when just randomly driving (normally during the initial start of deceleration).

What turbo/injectors are you running?

I am on the stock injectors and T2small and I haven't gotten fuel cut??

im running the stock injectors and fuel pump on a 16g at 13psi right now, it hits 13psi and stays there, no spikes of movment so i dont know if its a boost leak. This weekend im going to install the 550cc and 190pump.

Im going to try that boost leak tester again, i tried it once, and couldnt get it to work, it wouldnt put air into the damn tester, the boost gauge would not even move as i was trying to fill it. im going to go bu a damn air tank from autozone and go fill it up then go back to my house and try it again. ANYONE LIVE NEAR LOUISIANA LOL

after you install your stuff this weekend, set your fuel pressure to 43lbs, initial timing to 5*, and post RPM, Timing, 1st o2, TPS here so we can check it out

do you have a fuel controller?

I don't know if the leak tester is supposed to move the boost gauge or not, I thought that you were just supposed to listen for hissing air (I might be wrong though). I remember someone saying before that when the ECU see X amount of airflow it performs fuel cut. You should be ok when you install the 550's because you will be lying to the ECU and telling it there is less air there than there really is. So you shouldn't get the fuel cut. Did you download the plviewer software from pocketlogger? That makes it really easy to see the actual data points of the log! Helped me a ton.

yea, do you know how to send it to someone, i was going to send my log to you and see what you think

Ok, there are a couple of problems. First, when are you hitting fuel cut (what rpm)? Second, how many samples per second are you getting. For a 3rd gear pull you don't seem to be getting enough data points. Your timing is getting pulled all over the place. It looks like you are getting some serious knock. Here is my log, which everyone has said looks normal.

ok, i'll have to look at that, what do i do to fix knock,

Check to see how many samples a second you are getting, that way we can get a better look at the timing pull (exactly where it starts). If I were you I would drive cautiously until I got the SAFC-II/FP/injectors installed. Do the best you can at tuning, adjust your logger to get more samples/sec and then re-log. Also you might want to check for leaks. As far as getting rid of knock, it could be caused by a lot of different things. It could be phantom knock (Which, if I remember correctly doesn't happen too much). What octane gas are you using? It may just be a combination of the 16g and no fuel management. Or it could be an intake leak. If the air is getting into the intake on the TB side of the Karman sensor then you will be running lean and possibly causing the knock.

I will try and post your log so more experienced tuners can help on this one.

I am running on limited knowledge (just reading A LOT, but I don't have any practical experience) so don't take this as gospel.

Ok i havnt really been running the car to hard since i found out i was running rich about a month r two ago. i'm going to try and install the pump and S-AFCII tonight r tomorrow and then tune it, then go out to a local meet that has a few DSMers that use S-AFCII and they said they will help me. they also said install the pump and AFC first then tune then the injectors then tune again, saves from tuning big differences. or something like that lol.

you really need at least a SAFC 1 or 2 to adjust the fuel. when we tuned mine we got it to .94 all the way across the board ~18psi, 900 max on the EGT. oh ya, do you have an EGT? might want to get one of those too...

wow. that log will not due. run 2nd or 3rd gear 2500 to redline with rpm, tps, 1st o2 and timming.

If hes getting fuel cut, he wont be able to get a usable log ;) You can see problems in his log in the O2 voltage. There are VERY few datapoints, but I will assume that log had fuel cut?

Normally I would agree. Install the pump and AFC and get the car running decently, then install the 550s and drop everything 10% and retune. But since you are getting fuel cut, I would install the injectors now to push it off. Set the AFC to all minus 10s on the high and low throttle maps, then tune normally using trims until the low settings are right (should end up around minus 18s across the board if all is well). Use the info I gave in my first reply (RKO thread) to learn how to do all this stuff. Then make some WOT pulls and tune/post logs.
