Just when I was happy w/ my 95, I go and screw up my front end. I took off a bit TOO fast Saturday night out of a friends driveway and as you know these cars are BEASTS. ANYWAY, I couldnt come out of the turn in time and ran up on the curb. Bent/Cracked the lip of the rim which put my front driver side tire instantly on flat. NOW the steering is ALL off the steering wheel is about 90degrees to the left now to make the car go straight. Theres a skidding noise but it seems to be coming from the RIGHT side and I hit the left wheel. Took a look @ the right wheel today and it seems to be bowed out at the top slightly and the left seems to be coming IN at the bottom... Just paid for a new a/c comp. ($700) now this!!!! AAAHHHH, can anyone lead me in the right direction, I know this is a little vague but anyone had similar prob??? Had the car towed because I didnt wanna drive it any further because Im thinking the wheels will fall off, lol. Tow driver said he didnt see anything visibly wrong but I KNOW theres something wrong, also leaking tranny fluid now. And I was just about to sell this car and buy a 99 aurora w/ moonroof. ARRGHHH :banghead:

you'll need to replace your lower control arm(if bent), tie rod and most likely wheel hub/bearing.
Than take it to good aligment shop - she should drive like new. Dunno about the tranny - did you scrape the tranny pan over the curb? - in this case you might even look into damaged tranny , which can take $$$$ to fix.

How much is your insurance deductible and how is your standing with ins comp. In case like this i rather have it done proffessionally than try to cut corners to save money and end up with car that pulls/shakes or drives not right.

good luck anyway - keep us updated

hmmm you know, I never even thought about my ins. deductible is $500. Haven't been w/ them long, just bought the car in April as a gift to myself

I would definately go the insurance route because if you did enough damage to the wheels to have to replace them, that right there is a huge chunk of money. Plus, like IronAuroraV8 said, it's better to get good, professional work done when stuff like this happens.

I actually just rammed my 2002 Alero into a parking block the other night. I about crapped my pants because I saw some kind of fluid leaking; I thought that I had hit either the oil or the tranny pan. It turns out it was just the water draining from the A/C unit. I took her in today and she just needed a front end alignment. I did however, scrape the underside of the frame towards the front of my car and I also cracked the plastic splash gaurd under the front spoiler a little bit. I opted not to replace that just yet.

Good luck with your baby...

Gonna let whoever does the alignment do the whole job, not gonna ATTEMPT to do this job myself, how much do you think it will cost?? Just ballpark if its only lower control arm and tie rod? Tried to talk to my mechanic who does alignments etc. at his shop but he wasnt in yesterday, gonna try him today. He seems to be pretty honest and skilled. He once told me I DIDNT need something done on the car and you CANT find that anymore!!!!

does anyone know where these parts can be bought for a reasonable price once I find out which ones are needed?

Talked to my mechanic and he says it may be less than my $500 deductible so I think im gonna just bend over again.

Hey Jeremy, (or anyone else) I took the car in. Mechanic says I need this big metal piece replaces forgot what its called, dangit. But its bent causing my car to ride crappy and I also need an alignment. I TOO noticed where I scraped the frame JUST under where the spoiler/black plastic is. Similar to what your describing. Seems to be bent/broken. When I bought the car the black piece where the spoiler is was cracked so im not sure if this was already damaged or if I did it. Hope the car is still worth keeping.
