Hey guys. Im thinking about getting a 240, and Im wondering if I should get an S13, S14. I heard the S14 is the best drifter, but the S13 is just so 1337. If I get the S13, im gonna put an RB26DETTTTT in it, and if I get the S14, im gonna get the RB20DET, cause its the best drift/drag motor. Keep in mind, I wanna drift just like Takumi!!
Oh yeah, DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT
Sorry guys, I love the 240 also, but its becoming the next Civic....now Im waiting for all the bandwagon ricers to jump in and say, "RedFC3S, your right, im tired of all the ricers, cause Ive been in to drifting before it was popular!"

if you have the money get a S14 since they are generally in better condition. also they have a slightly longer wheelbase and have a inch wider track then the S13. all this leads to better high speed stablity if you like to play on the highway. also the S14 is less prone to understeer compared to the S13. however the S13 usually weights 200 lbs less. so its cheaper to make it faster in the straight line, and it should stop better, and feel more nimble casue of the size and weight difference.

you know, it's things like this that make me sad.
people are all like "uhhh the 240SX is the next civic uhhh blah blah bandwagon jumpers blah blah ricers blah blah i'm selling my 240 so i don't look like a ricer"
well i hate bandwagon jumpers and ricers as much as the next guy.
but fuck! if you're an actual ENTHUSIAST of the 240SX, you wouldn't CARE how many people owned them. you would still want to buy one because you like it so much.
people are like "the SR20 is played out, get a different motor" or "buy something other then the 240SX cause everyone has one now"
the SR20 is "played out" because it's a good engine. a good engine means alot of people are going to want it. sure, some of those people out there who do the swap don't know jack shit about it and just do it to fit in and be "1337", but who the fuck cares?
personally, i have loved this car since i first learned about them in 1997. the only reason that i'm now considering other options (namely an FC3S) is because it's nearly impossible to find a rust-free S13 up here. i don't CARE how many people have the SR20 swap, and i don't CARE how many people have an S13. i still love them and would only be buying one and doing the swap to make ME happy, not to fit in or anything. fuck what anyone else thinks of me or my car. they can call me a bandwagon jumper all they want, in the end i'll have the car i want and be happy with it.

it's internet slang for the word "elite". but they shortened it to "leet" and spelt it with numbers instead of letters.

I must say just because im new to the 240SX forum dose not mean im new to the car. in fact my love is for the company. its sad how many of you give answers that are totaly wrong. yet you dont take the time to find out the correct answer, just because you where told by someone how you think is knowlegable. another thing is just because you find that people want 240s and want to do swaps you think ist a bandwagon when you shouldnt wory about other and get your car just the way you like it.its not about what people are going to think of your ride its what you think of your ride . i feel good about that guy with the blue and chessboar patern interior. he did the work him self and he was happy with the result. about drifting i will say it dose suck when people buy a car saying they are going to drift but dont. and the haters that talk crap about the real drifters, the one that actually go to track and practice their style and work hard to learn the sport, just because they cant get sideways. i mean drifting is like baseball, basketball,or football. people want to do it for fun its dangerus but the real drifters know what they are geting into. true there are those who put otheres at risk by trying to be takumi and those are the ones that have to be tought, that drifting is like drag , its like grip you do it with safety and in the right place.

"i will say it dose suck when people buy a car saying they are going to drift but dont."
the people im talking about here are the ones that put up a front. the ones that want to tell you everything about drifting, but you put then on the drivers seat and cant do what they just told you to do and made fun of you because you couldnt. drifting isnt as easy as it looks or read about. if you really like it.. practice, and be safe about it take it to the track.

i think some of the older members here are assholes.
people come here for info on the 240 and we should try to help them the best we can, not just say google it and search it. i agree some questions are extremely absurdly stupid/newbie questions but all we have to do is point them in the right direction, not FLAME THEM FOR BEING AN ASSHOLE or put up a new PWN3D pic. that just proves you really are indeed a 12 year old.
it got better on these forums because a lot of the members left because they got sick of coping with / flaming the newbies. you gotta know that with 240s you get a lot of people who don't know shit, but some of the just want to learn and others really do like the car just as much as you do. know when to flame the ricer and help out the newbie.

any regular reader/poster in this forum will eventually get annoyed with the same questions being asked day in and day out (obviously)... but you have to understand that people sign up, don't want to read the faq cause its 1305663 pages long and since they're new to the 240 spectrum, they'll ask us questions that are no-brainers to us, when to them, its brand new stuff they're learning..
there isn't any easy way to stop this from happening.. i mean, we could have different faq pages, one on the rb's, one on the sr's, one on the ca's, one on the ka's, s13,14,15 and so on.. that way the answers to noob questions will be easier to find.. but thats probably far-fetched..
either way, the people who want a simple answer to a simple question will still come on here, post without reading f*ck all and expect a direct, simple answer. thats not gonna change

I think it might not be a bad idea to have seperate FAQS, its really not that difficult to do really. Like, even though 90% of the new people dont read them anyway, it will in fact make the information easier to find, and overtime slowly people will use them a lot if they are more user friendly. Right now, half the posts in the FAQs are things like:
"I think we should have this: (insert info here)"
Then the next post is the answer, or one post is a single answer to a random question about the cars. This scatters the info a lot, and unless you have a really good memory, it makes it hard to remember all the information on the first read, and you can't find what your looking for quickly. We could easily make a few different FAQs to help make the information easier to find and use.
Here's some ideas:
ENGINE SWAPS (SR, KA, RB, etc.)
GENERAL INFO (s13, s14, s15 specs, etc.)
I dont know, im sure together we can think of the best way to do it, but I totally think that would be beneficial to not only the new people but us as well. I know I end up browsing through the FAQ a few times a week, cause I can never remember all those specs perfectly. What say you? What we would need done is, have someone willing to make the thread, and organize it well enough that it's easy to navigate and find the information (using bold letters and have maybe a table of contents, etc.) and then we could all proofread it, argue over whats incorrect and what isnt, then when everyone agrees on it, delete all the unneeded posts and FAQasize it. Seems like a good idea to me, what do you guys think?

I think this is a very good thread i also think that your right maybe the 240 is turning into the next civic. however, that can never happen because there arent enough 240's in the united states for this to happen sure there will be some riced out 240's w/ neons and what not but the 240 will never be nearly what the civic has been in terms of how many people are ricing it out just because of the amount of 240's in america isnt enough

If you guys are getting so pissed about ricers getting into 240s, then how do you think real honda tuners feel? They have it really bad and I respect them as much as any tuner. It doesn't matter what car you have, there will always be posers no matter what. Make the best of it.
As for the FAQ deal, maybe we should separate it out. We could have a basic 240 section, a section for each engine series, a section for drift, a section for autox(I know there are a couple of you), and a section for drag. People do need to stop ragging on other engines. I'm sure if you had an SR20 or a KA-T, you wouldn't be ragging on them. I would be more than willing to contribute a lot to the KA section and I know everyone will help out. A lot of these new guys are leaning toward KA-T and could use a point in the right direction.

to tell you the truth, i would follow all the faq if it were separated into managable sections.. i'm no expert and i know i have a lot to learn.. if its going to happen, we'd definitely have lots of thinking and compromising to do because the division will be hard to define so that everybody is happy.. one thing we don;t want is an abundance of topics. keep it simple.
suislide, what do you think?? this will ease your role in this forum.. you won't have to babysit as much..
what kind of sub-sections do you guys think we should have if this were to happen??

Yea I was thinking that too. The only thing is that the 240sx section was just combined with other sections so I didn't think the mods or the admin would really go for that. I would settle for stickies on the different sections and would be more than willing to offer assistance.

but its only the faq sitting at the top of the thread listing.. and all the amalgamated sections would be included in the new faq sections.. doesn't seem to be a big deal but there might be things we're missing that make it more complicated..
