I just got a electric Traxxas rustler a few days ago and i was wondering what some good parts to buy for it such as motor and chassis. I can handle it really well ive been racing micro rc cars for awhile and decided to move up.
Also how long should i charge my batteries for the longest run time? Ive been using a 15 minute charger that i got from my LHS and a 1500 mAh 6 cell battery pack and it only runs for about 6-7 minutes!
thanks,
josh

It depends on the battery. I get about 10minute runtimes, but I usually have another batt charging while Im running.

with the batteries i had a 1800MaH battery for the electric start on my nitro sport se from traxxas, when i used it in an electric touring car with a 540 motor it ran superbly for about 16 minuites, so 3000MaH is gonna be great. Also what motor is stock in the electric rustler, is it a 540, 580, or like the e-maxx, twin 580's
Edit: if you really wanted to spend some dough you could get a modified electric motor, where i am the motors cost roughly $AU 120 fora core brand modified electric 540 i think motor.

The stock esc on a rustler can only handle motors with no fewer than 17 turns. The stock is a 20 turn.
I'm not sure what kind of speed you're looking for, but have you tried gearing it faster? Get a couple of spurs(maybe a 78 and a 81 tooth) and a couple of pinions (mabe a 16 and a 20 tooth) and play with the gearing.
