component mix up

my front speakers are currently JL 5 1/4" components, with the crossover n all that. If i have some other 5 1/4 that i wanna try out, but a diff. brand, can i hook up the other speakers to the JL crossover

yes, but don't expect it to sound all that great. It might sound just fine, but then again woofer/tweeter blending might be shot to hell, all depends on the specific woofer you're trying out.

there not woofers, they r 5 1/4 RF power series speakers

woofer = any speaker that's not a tweeter or midrange-only

oh alright....so what do u think? will it sound bad? and if i end up liking the rf's better, would i have to toss out the crossovers n all the wiring

I can't tell you how it will sound, especially to your ears

why don't you try it, and then TELL US how it sounded to you?
